What is Line-Striping?
Line-striping is required on commercial properties like parking lots, gas stations, business plazas, apartment complexes, and more. Line-striping can include striping the lines for the parking spaces, directional arrows, "No Parking" text, handicap boxes, speed bumps, curbs, and any other visual signifiers needed to direct the flow of traffic.
The main concern with line-striping is the level of precision. You want straight, even lines that look professional. This can only be achieved by a skilled person using a line-striping machine. You want to avoid contractors that paint by hand.
Typically, there are three types of line-striping jobs:
- New Layouts
- Re-stripes
- Resurfaced Re-stripes
New Layouts
New Layout
A new layout is a brand new property that has never been line-striped before. Usually, you'll have the blueprints from the property designers. We use these plans as a guide to mark the layout and paint the new lines, while adhering to traffic and control regulations. We work with you to ensure your property is 100% legal and abides by the state's requirements.
Re-stripes
Resurfaced Re-Stripe
Freshly painted lines will last a few years depending on the level of wear and tear from traffic. For safety measures, the state requires that all traffic markings be clearly visible so once the paint starts to fade, you will need to re-stripe the lot. This is a fairly simple process as it's just a go-over of existing lines.
Resurfaced Re-stripes
This type of job is similar to a Re-stripe, except that the lines have been sealcoated over. Usually, you can still see the lines underneath the sealcoat so this is just another go-over. This is our favorite kind of job because the property looks really great when it's been sealcoated and re-striped. You and your customers will love how new and fresh your property looks.
Our PROCESS
We have been line-striping as long as we've been sealcoating. We are true experts of our craft. We only use high-quality latex paint that is sure to last. Most lots prefer either white or yellow paint for their lines, but we also supply a variety of different color options. For handicap stalls or "lettering" we use laser-cut stencils to guarantee accuracy and precision.
For new layouts and re-stripes, we meet with you to go over the job and complete the work to your satisfaction. For resurfaced re-stripes, we wait until the sealcoating job is finished, then come back to finish the line-striping.
On any job, we do our best to avoid inconveniencing your customers and tenants. We work in sections so that some parking is always available. And if necessary, we work at night or early in the morning when business is closed.
